Meet The Doctors
Josh Ezell, D.O.
Dr. Josh Ezell is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician focusing on an array of preventive medicine and chronic disease management. While most internal medicine doctors practice either hospital-based or clinic-based medicine, Dr. Ezell practices both, and as a result, his patients will have one ‘go-to’ doctor for all of their needs. The ability to practice in both settings allows him to be there for his patients throughout their entire healthcare journey. Dr. Ezell is known for not only his comforting bedside manner but also for the ability to treat his patients as a whole person, not just a disease.
Originally from Indiana, Dr. Ezell attended Indiana University for his undergraduate studies before attending the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences for his Master’s and Doctoral degrees. After meeting his medical-school sweetheart, they both completed residency training in Columbus, Ohio before returning to her hometown of Kansas City to begin their family.
In 2022, Dr. Ezell joined Dr. John Dunlap’s practice at Menorah Medical Center under the Direct Primary Care model. In August of 2024, leadership of the practice was transitioned to Dr. Ezell, who assumed the role of managing partner at what had by then been renamed Overland Park Internal Medicine (OPIM). While the name of the practice evolved, its founding commitments—to ensuring physician accessibility, fostering clear communication, and providing consistent follow-through—have remained steadfast to the present day.
Martha Allen M.D.
Dr. Martha Allen is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician who brings both expertise and heart to her practice. A Missouri native, she completed her undergraduate studies at Central Methodist University before earning her medical degree and completing her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Kansas School of Medicine.
Dr. Allen has built her career around preventive care, women’s health, hypertension, diabetes, thyroid disorders, and chronic disease management. She previously served as the Internal Medicine Department Chair for LMH Health, where she was known for her leadership in quality improvement and high patient satisfaction.
Dr. Allen chose Internal Medicine because she loves the variety of people and conditions it allows her to care for. She sees medicine as a true partnership—one where she walks alongside her patients, helping them reach their health goals with compassion, honesty, and support. She is especially known for her thoughtful, down-to-earth approach and for treating every patient like family.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Allen enjoys a full life as a proud mom of two. She finds joy in gardening, baking, sewing, and exploring the outdoors through running and cycling. At home, she can often be found doting on her beloved (and slightly spoiled) dogs and cats.
John Dunlap M.D.
After more than 45 years of caring for patients with warmth, expertise, and humor, Dr. John Dunlap retired on August 1, 2025.
A board-certified Internal Medicine physician, Dr. Dunlap trained at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, where he completed his residency and fellowship. Since 2014, he practiced under the Direct Primary Care model, focusing on personalized, attentive care for every patient.
Dr. Dunlap’s patients know him as a careful listener who asks the right questions, shows genuine compassion, and always brings a sense of humor to the exam room. His commitment to his patients earned him recognition as an Ingram’s Business Magazine Top Doctor since 2003 and Kansas City Magazine’s Top Doctor of Internal Medicine in 2016.
While he will be greatly missed, Overland Park Internal Medicine (OPIM) will continue under the expert care of Dr. Josh Ezell, along with Dr. Martha Allen, who are dedicated to the same high standards of excellence you have come to expect working with Dr. John Dunlap.
